Hi Ashley! This issue is about my earnings that Poshmark still hasnt released. My attempts at eBay, Vinted, Mercari and Im sure one or two others were a no-go for me so Tradesy and Poshmark have been my staples for a year now. I really need to cancel it because I made a mistake in ordering. I am an avid buyer and only had one bad experience. I have not had a case opened yet. It doesnt even make sense that they give $5 dollars credit when shipping is $6.49 its better not to even use a referral code. I bought a domain from GoDaddy and just now started on Shopify. It was a pinup dress. I know I probably should have just canceled the order but I figure everyone starts somewhere. I was nice at first and pointed out that #1- I am listing a ton of NWT stuff well be low retail and even wholesale prices, not making money on a lot of things. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Before she listed it on Poshmark, she did due diligence to ensure it was authentic. Hi. I was pretty smitten, as it was very unusual, and a piece of art, in my opinion. snd listing their brand as boutique , at horribly inflated prices ALL OVER Poshmarkmakes me sad that women would rio each other off this way!! The bonus items were worth more than the items you paid for. Im an avid buyer never have issues and I am a seller as well and have had some nasty child like women treat me like dirt. Im staying with PM for now but after reading all these comments, it sure is sad to know there are folks out there that will take advantage of others and ruin items they send back-just, wow. This person just received the top and either didnt like it or found out it didnt fit her and wanted her money back. She ruined my perfect 5 star rating with a one star. The thing I like about poshmark is how you dont have to create a paypal or venmo to receive your money. One girl told me and who is CLEARLY either: 1. pulling a bait-and-switch with her own damaged bag (again, in her one photo, you cant even see the entire bag, whereas I have 8 photos of my bag in the listing) OR They are all about profit and protecting the scammers within their site. Looking into it now and will be following your journey too. I had numerous zoomed in photos of my shoes, new without box, even photos with measurements against a tape ruler. I live in NYC so I have plenty of consignment and resale stores at my disposal. I sold a tech item and the buyer claimed it didnt work. I had just had a case opened with a bundle I made, everything was good and ready to go. These people never buy anything and it seems their sole purpose for being on Poshmark is to waste your time. I am fairly new to Poshmark, just a week over a month. I stopped posting on PM because of their crazy 20% fee and poor customer service. Just ship it back for free if you dont like it. But the thing I couldnt understand they didnt look at the fact I been a great seller for 4 years, They shut me down completely. Essentially, there are many Sellers that may have 1,000 listed items to Sell, yet lacks any real intention of Selling many of the listed items. Now I have someone asking me how I could sell it and not have the SOLD banner across it that Posh puts on when it sells. Lowball offers? And I no longer can post it as new. Very onesided. These are men who have found Poshmark and created accounts just so they can ask you to model that pair of high heels or that tight dress. Its enough to make you really irritated, if youre that picky you could always try asking or leaving a comment warning first that youre going to be that particular and will act like a miserable brat when your never used $120 retail item you bought for an offer of $18 smelled either too nice or not nice enough! And I did. Finally Poshmark voted in my favor and the story was over. (two and a half weeks later, still no response from Seller) Once I received notification of the accusation and reply to Poshmark through email and phone, despite my great reputation on the site, I got no response and had the item returned to me. Yet, Ive heard nothing. Im working on a competitive app that will do just that and more! Thanks! In addition there was a good morning america aka GMA segment I think Yesterday on side hustle ie doing stuff on the side of regular job/school etc. Poshmark is the leader in a growing group of secondhand fashion websites, such as Tradesy, the RealReal, Twice, Vinted, Thredup, and Copious, where users can buy anything from Banana Republic. I only sell things that I would buy myself; if there is too much wear I will either throw it away or donate it. I wrote on here once before but I just recently had an experience similar to Eltee. $300 down the drain. Ive had completely ungrateful ratings and rude comments left, even when getting an item close to 90% off in mint condition complaining of perfume smell (it was sitting by an air freshener). My first sale, I already have someone disputing the authenticity of the bag I sold them. SMH . Ever wonder why theres no seller protection on PoshMark? That is steep. This seriously angers me. If you treat it as a hobby you will get paid accordingly. I am completely disappointed and how PM has handle the situation and will not sell on their platform anymore. I have about 200 items on poshmark and get one or two sales here and there. Your story is nearly identical to mine just about 4 years later! What about Amazon.com? I dont feel I have the confdence to start anything emse though. Took a huggggee break on there. If you feel like the pricing does not make sense, check out the seller account. I spent days on this. I was all over that jacket while I was packing it, using tissue and stuffing the sleeves with tissue, then putting into a clear sweater bag like you get from dry cleaning. In the 4th month I hear back from Posh stating because they believe the sunglasses were fake they cant help me. I am quitting at the end of the month. I sold a brand new pair of tommy bahama flops a couple weeks ago. I shared the receipt with PM since it has private contact info on it and asked the buyer to contact them directly to return, but she keeps posting comments. Geez! I just left ebay for the same reason, no seller protection. People called you a whore because you declined an offer?! So after about 5 emails that took a month to get an actual response, I was told that I hadnt removed the listing explaining how to spot a scammer. What one person considers EUC may actually be just good to another person, so some basic elaboration is necessary. I sold authentic items, described them well, photographed them well, especially noted any items with damage/wear. Great post! I agree that some items on Poshmark are way overpriced. I recently had someone buy some Nike shorts from me. Sorry for the diatribe! *Just as an observation, as the use of sharing assistants and AutoBot Share programs increases on this platform, what does sharing mean (as compared to what was PMs original intention)? Poshmark started doing well and getting attention almost as soon as it began. At first it was slow but made $500 in June.. No problems & 5 stars on all buys. The ridiculous amount of fakes sold on Poshmark is why honest people who sell authentic items get hosed and rated badly by people with buyers remorse or who scream fake when they have no idea how to check authenticity. I recently sold a Chloe Marcie Bag and after I sold it, it got shipped to them to authenticate. Posh cancelled the sale. Im sure not all Poshers are respectful, and I do not defend the sorts of people youre talking about, but from what I have seen in the Posh community, there is a fine line between due diligence and what certain Poshers consider trolling. I even take photos of distressed details on jeans, even though that is the design. I encourage buyers to ask questions. You are right. I opened my account on January 31,2017. Thank you for the post. And certainly know that your bought purchase may end up being a donation as well. CHEERS! The low balling when stated as firm- yep. They told me to ask the BUYER to change it. I have only been selling for 4 months and I have already had a brand new with tags 34 B bra returned because she claimed there was NO WAY it was a 34 B. I agreed to let her return the item and she was reimbursed . I think sometimes sellers forget that buyers are on these second hand sites because some people and families cant afford to buy new. Our generation has made it such a big deal to stop talking to someone because they make you unhappy, but in all honesty, it is absolutely 100% okay. You literally just take pictures of your items and write the description on your phone. I found it incredibly frustrating to put so much effort into photographing items that buyers wanted to lowball. I simply declined, since I had enough experience through my clothing page to know theres no winning THAT fight. I have literally run across earrings on Poshmark for $30 that are bought for $1.25 from online websites (oh it takes 3-4 weeks to arrive! Again, thats one of the reasons I quit! I just received my electric yoga pants back today, and not only are there new snags on it that it didnt have when it left my possession, there are stains at the knees and the back of the pants near where your heel would be. Got that? I would love to start my own site, but I have little presence on social media currently (working on it) and worry about getting the necessary traffic to make the monthly fees worth it. We will not be restoring your account as we require users to follow our returns guideline. I may need to get out of this reselling business and get a job that is less stress. And I learned a lot from being on Poshmark for a few years, so that certainly helped in starting my own online store. For everything else, I use resale stores like Beacons Closet, Buffalo Exchange, Crossroads. Its about being social and every one is selling inspired by labels (knockoffs), despite PMs supposed policy against it. Unfortunately, since Poshmark is a competitive market, buyers have to interact with the app a few times a day to "closet" to get views. Im new to the site. I had a genuine Chanel listing reported and questioned. I get it in the mail and the leather feels light. She literally said I cant believe you would sell a bag like that for that price. NOTE never asked a question, never made an offer, never asked for more photos or where stains were (as we all know only 4 photos). After this experience, I dont think I can trust anyone on Posh. I use to have an IG store but then you get shady people there filing a charge back 40 days later. There are some pretty simple fixes to your complaints and you just have to determine what you want to put your energy into! I have taken allmost all my preowned irems off but i know Ill have problems anyway. Happy poshing! Im just guessing that as Poshers are sharing their listings, they are also shopping. If we keep notifying them of their weaknesses they more than likely will adapt and change to become a better business. Additionally, eBay runs right around 20% too, when you add up the cost of a store (I have anchor which is 300 a month), final value fees, and Paypal fees. I recently found a listing for a Kate spade jewelry box that the poster calmed was orginally 100 dollars that she was no selling for 75 dollars. . Basically it states that due to unfortunate circumstances, I am now substantially photographing every purchase before I ship!!! Then in May, I listed many more items; also joined the parties and follow groups. I should explain that I am an older lady (older but sharp) and I have a desktop computer and a landline phone and I DONT USE A CEL PHONE. If you pay what they are asking, list it for the msrp they suggest, then wait for an offer and Posh taking 20%, you might make a couple of bucks or break even! She ended up posting my personal information on various websites and on the posh app, and told people I was never sending her top. Ive been selling on eBay off and on for the last 15 years and its just extra income for me. I had a buyer try to sneak different items into a bundle after we had negotiated. How is that allowed?! On one wholesale portal I think it was the bullet necklaces, they give so much to charity I suggested Posh give the 20% they make off each sale to said charity! Sent it to her after the weekend I get a note saying it was damaged and she wants to return. There are a lot of Facebook groups that are dedicated to reporting people who scam and people are very quick to run out and block because sumbody dun sumbody wrong, but it's really . Pants were fine when I sent them to her, wondering what she couldve done to them. I did get one snarky message in my notifications but I could not read it as it was truncated. The pricing model just doesnt work for me. I tell people to look on line to see if they can buy the BRAND NWT top Im selling that is currently in stores and in style for less? So, I made a nickel, she admitted to breaking my item & im stuck with a 1 star review I totally feel you. Heres the thing IT WAS NOT DAMAGED. I received no reply, but she now has the jacket marked not for sale. I followed up in February and was advised there was a long waiting list to be a suggested user. They shut my closet down Black Friday for a week. Poshmark said that they had received pictures of the item. I am trying to figure the best venue for resale. I am thinking about leaving Poshmark. This is exactly how I feel. An update on my situation, in case anyone cares.. the eBay guy was of course refunded his money. I certainly would never list an item with a faulty zipper. No, I didnt get to take my followers with me, but I put up a notice in my Poshmark closet letting my followers know that my closet had moved to ShopStylaphile.com, so a lot of my customers did follow me over and buy things from my new site. Its insane, now that they have grown there needs to be rules for top rated sellers. I agree the lowball offers are ridiculous and Im offended! Totally agree youre exactly right! I guess they didnt notice over 1000 good reviews and complements Then on eBay they made a computer glitch and even admitted it Was their error,got shut down my shop as well even though I called three times they never fixed the problem.
